Post-opening at Oregon Shakespeare Festival!!!

Thanks for dropping by my newer and cleaner new website! Much more to be refined, but here we've gone LIVE as you're reading this.

So wild that I get to be in residence with the company of such world-class artists, and more importantly world-class fun and genuine human beings, here in Ashland, Oregon! Now that my two core shows are officially up and running, I begin to shift into planning for future project, looking into the possibility of staying as a repertory actor (and auditioning for the next season ALREADY!), ruminating on the return to graduate school, brewing ideas for future directing projects, applying for grants...

Ashland is such an invigorating haven that while I'm a full-time actor here, I think of it as a year-long residency to incubate projects and thought; and there are even days when the teen drama geek in me rediscovers how I'm basically in a yearlong paid Drama Camp.

On the projects front, as I write this...

I continue to perform Mary Zimmerman's raved production of GUYS AND DOLLS at Oregon Shakespeare Festival to sold out houses. And fresh off the press, this production will be transferring to the Wallis Annenberg Center in Beverly Hills, L.A. around holiday season later this year!!

We have begun the run, proper, for the English premiere of seminal modern Chinese play, SECRET LOVE IN PEACH BLOSSOM LAND(暗戀桃花源), helmed and translated by original author Stan Lai 賴聲川, who has been hailed by the BBC as “probably the best Chinese language playwright and director in the world.” Production opened April 19, 2015 and performs thru the end of the 2015 season.

I am officially slotted to direct a closed Staged Reading two plays by Sarah Kane later in the season as an OSF Midnight Project.

So much more brewing in the pot -- and I shall share them as they ripen.

Wishing you much love, health and inspiration,

Eugene
